These are eco-friendly units designed for biomass combustion, as well as the thermal processing and disposal of wood waste.

In 2024, the Intermet boiler factory celebrated its 50th anniversary. The company's origins date back to the 1970s, when it initially produced coal-fired boilers with capacities of up to approximately 600 kW. In 1977, development began on biomass boilers-a product line that remains a core part of the company's offering to this day. The manufacturing plant was located near Elbląg, where boiler designs were continually developed and modernized until 2016.

In 1997, the founder's sons became involved in the company's growth, and they continue to oversee its operations today. It was during this period that work began on the very first biomass boilers.

Driven by passion and determination, the company launched its first biomass-fired units on the market: the manually loaded Ekovex DKC. A few years later, in 2001, Intermet introduced its first automatic fuel-feeding system to the furnace-the Ekomat.
